His hands smelled of soil and sandalwood, and when he spoke, his voice had the cadence of an unsung lullaby.

There is a map I carry, though it is still being drawn. It lives beneath my skin, outlined in the soft tissue of being. It charts no cities, no rivers, no borders ~ but it knows the terrain of loss, the coordinates of silence and the fault lines of a dissonant reaching for fulfillment in this thing we have named 'life'. It yearns desperately towards the happy and sublime.

Days of Indian Summer. Top Story - November 2025.
Although the exact origins of the term are uncertain, Indian Summer was perhaps so-called because it was first noted in regions inhabited by Native Americans, or because the natives first described it to Europeans. Or, it had been based on the warm and hazy conditions in autumn when Native Americans hunted.
