Weed and Sex
Everyone seems to be fascinated with drugs and sex. The reason for this insatiable curiosity is not hard to understand; both drugs and sex can be very powerful experiences, and curiosity is high when knowledge is low. This is why marijuana supporter Laurence O. McKinney covered the topic in-depth for Head magazine. Drugs and sex have both been unbelievably sensationalized during this century. You can always explore the inside of your head for a couple of bucks, and, given the right sexual partner, anyone can be a king or a queen. Since both experiences are extraordinarily personal, you really can’t find out about them until you try them.

Moroccan Hash Culture
In Morocco it's possible to see the Atlantic and the Mediterranean at the same time, even if you haven't sampled the local hash. There are marijuana and hashish smokers in every segment of society. Among the Muslims, for whom alcoholic beverages are forbidden by Islamic law, kings, beggars, and everyone in between, hash is a nice way to end the day. It is part of the fabric of many of these cultures. Hashish or hash, sometimes referred to as kif in northeast areas of Africa like Morocco, is the extract of compressed trichomes of cannabis know as kief. Kief has a much higher concentration of the psychoactive cannabinoid THC. Processing kief is one of the steps in producing hash, and it involves heating through multiple cycles.

Weed in Rastafarianism
Any true Rastafarian will tell you that it is absolutely necessary to meditate every time you smoke the herb. They always wish the herb to be used respectfully, in keeping with its inherent ability to spiritualize the state of mind. Violent or negative tendencies are exorcized by the conscious, careful smoking of the herb. A gentle overview is the aim of the smoker—cooling out.

Marijuana Moments Throughout History
Religion and history are full of miraculous stories and larger than life characters. From Jesus to Christopher Columbus, the burning bush to the Garden of Eden, we are taught that these people and stories are the righteous among us- they are our examples and our best case scenarios. But what they also share, is a rich history of marijuana moments. That’s right. Recent science, biblical scholarship, and historical evidence prove time and again that many of our favorite biblical stories and historical characters grew and smoked marijuana. It was included in holy rituals and everyday necessities that you definitely didn’t learn about in history class.

Man in the Mountain
The Rasta kissed his wife and children good-bye and started walking up the mountain path. After several hours, he came to a cavern and slid down the rope hanging over the side. About 30 feet down was the entrance to a cave. He swung in and walked toward a light about 100 feet ahead. Hearing the bubbling sound of a chalice, he followed the sound to its source and found the most ancient-looking Rasta he ever saw, drawing on a huge water pipe. The smell of the ganja was the strongest, sweetest aroma he had ever had the pleasure of inhaling.

Weed Yoga
Too long have yogis stood in the alley behind the studio and had a quick toke before class begins. Edibles, in moderation, can contribute to a really great spiritual session. But imagine a world where you roll up to your yoga studio with your bottle of water, yoga mat, and a joint. This fantasy is a reality for yogis in California who visit yoga studios, such as Ganja Yoga in San Francisco or 420 Remedy Yoga in Glendale. Normally, consuming cannabis signals the brain to release more dopamine and put you in a happier place. When this is combined with yoga, it helps you heighten your spiritual consciousness in a way that could not be reached otherwise. There is already yoga for wine, chocolate and dog lovers, so it’s about time there was yoga for marijuana. This practice of pairing weed and yoga is not new, however.
