Tied Together
Poetry will be the main theme of what I write on my page. But every once in a while, I will talk about mental health. My journey to me is strange to describe. I'm always middle of the road on so many things: middle of politics, middle of intro/extraversion spectrum, middle of hot and cold(Autumn: my favorite). Basically, I hear the ends of the spectrum and it is always a mixture of the two.

Small-business Workers depend on Work during the Corona Virus for Survival
The corona virus panic has kept everyone inside, quarantining, and away from stores... Unless they desperately need a coffee, supplies, or a quick meal. They're grateful that the stores are open, but often don't think twice about the employees who keep the stores open for them. They’re grateful to be in a safe home, away from all the stress, while still being able to make money through working at home. There are people out there today who can’t afford that luxury. Every hour counts, whether or not its in a deadly pandemic.

Age Discrimination - Young vs. Old
An HR manager recently posted a message that he had hired a woman over 50 and had taken quite a bit of heat for it from the younger generation. There were a number of comments, I put in my two cents and commended him for his decision. I added that given the choice between a 25-year-old and a 50-year-old, I would pick the 50-year-old every time.

Melancholy, it’s an odd feeling. It’s funny how your emotions affect your perception of everything around you. Perception can change one conversation from a discussion to an argument. A Roommate into an enemy, a job into the worst decision of your life. But why is it always so obvious afterwards. It would be really handy to have a shit filter. Something like brakes, something that slows down your reaction times, something that helps you analyse things more objectively so you can make better choices. Interestingly, there is research out there that suggest that mild depression can do this. Apparently mild depression acts as a bit of a brake, and that people with mild depression actually see things more clearly than people in other emotional states. For those of you who read ADHD style, skipping words here and there, assuming you will get enough info for an accurate general gist, I will repeat it in bold type: MILD DEPRESSION CAN MAKE YOU MORE LOGICAL, not that depression makes you logically superior to happy glass half full types. Of course, a conversation is a two-way street, for it to work both people have to be grown-ups, ready to listen, compromise and work towards a satisfactory solution for all involved.

Bertha
I will never understand Bertha or what made her the poisonous harpy she is today. Today, I am a different and hopefully better man than I was yesterday. Bertha, she doesn’t seem to grow or learn from her mistakes. I’m really not sure what Bertha wants from life. Yes, Bertha is opinionated, but opinionated in the way that man hating misandryists are ‘strong’. You have to stretch the definition to breaking point and eliminate all shades of grey for opinionated to be the best word for the job. Bertha calls herself strong, opinionated and the sort of person who doesn’t take shit. All true. The Berlin wall fell quicker than you could make Bertha back down, she will force her opinions down your throat whilst threatening you with hari kiri if you don’t put in writing that her opinions are fact, and she doesn’t take shit because she has pre-emptively terrorised everyone with her our shit flinging fury. So, while what Bertha says about herself is without question correct, it is less than half the story. It's all in the delivery, and her delivery sucks. She is rude, abrupt, condescending and aggressive. The human version of the postie who takes a shit in your letterbox and carefully sandwiches it between your electricity bill and your birthday card from your nana.

Hermes Labs - day 1
After having six weeks off prior to starting Hermes Labs, I was a little worried about whether or not I had made the right choice. I know I will never again work at KRONOS, that bridge has been burned. Actually, that doesn’t really describe it. Bridges can be re-built. It’s more like the 9/11 twin towers thing. I shook them to the core and they as a nation/business may never truly recover from it. Within weeks of me leaving the training department had pumped out a couple of bullshit training modules on discrimination, bullying and conflict resolution. Covering their arses and with the same lack of self-awareness as an obese person in hotpants, the biggest bullies of all wrote the book on anti-bullying. Since I have been gone, they have also re-written their social media policy, and doubled down on trying to turn my friends against me. Oh, how the mighty respond to a slight panic, not with a dismissive wave of their powerful hand, but an outraged fatwa against the person who dared to call them out on their bullshit.

Abigail & Prudence - Two Peas in a Pod
God, I hate when suburban Australian try-hards attempt to appropriate aristocratic ideas to re-affirm their deeply held belief that they are born special. There’s nothing worse than 1 generation removed from working class people who believe they are part of a natural ruling class. Brand new money, and we are not talking millionaires, middle class mofos. Money made by hard working people doing honest labour sometimes produces the most revolting entitlement in the children they worked so hard to provide for. Parents who work day in and night, and went without to build a business for their kid to prance about like Lord Lard Arse. Proud of their spawn who believe themselves above doing the work that was good enough for their parents. Why are some people proud of raising children who see their parents as so thoroughly beneath them? It makes me vomit in my mouth a bit when nobodies talk about being from prominent families. God the fishpond needs to be tiny if we are going to call the guy whose dad owns 2 car yards, or the girl whose mum owns a real estate agency ‘from prominent families’. My jaded little self has higher standards than that, and isn’t impressed by your goldfish like claims of importance by birthright. If you ain’t a Rothchild or the kraken you are small fry sweetheart, get over it.

Hypocrisy
‘Sometimes being a high riding bitch…. is all you have to survive’. Tammy is a trainer at KRONOS. Heartless, demanding and with no life outside of her job. I was going to say she has no concern for anything but Tammy is a vegetarian. Have you heard of the term slacktivist? They are the people who post shit on Facebook like ‘like if you hate cancer’, then dislocate their own shoulder trying to pat themselves on the back for their ‘woke’ awareness raising activism.

Scorpio
Being a Scorpio, and knowing many of them, I can say this with confidence: Scorpios can be cunts. It’s in our bones, its woven into our DNA. Scorpios can be vindictive, they can be petty, and when they are hurting, they do their best to make sure others hurt just as bad as they are hurting. Scorpios are saboteurs, they are stubborn and most of all they don’t EVER think they are wrong. Scorpio’s are decisive and unwavering, black and white in their thinking, and forgiveness is a word in pretty low rotation in the Scorpio vocabulary. Scorpios are fabulous at building walls, but if breaking down walls was part of a school report card it would definitely say ‘more effort required’. As a general rule, Scorpios are pedal to the metal, full speed ahead. If we have any faults, and we don’t, it would be our inability to slow down when feeling righteous.

Work is more than life.
It seems as if work were the main part of one's life. It seems as if ambitious thoughts and plans for the future are to take 90% of one’s thoughts. It seems as if, if one doesn’t sacrifice basically all one has one is not to live a fulfilling life. As I was looking for synonyms of life to not break the rules of good writing the first suggestion was career. It’s incredible how man made this world such a factory. It sounds overused ,doesn't it? But it's true. From such early ages it’s nothing but a factory. I remember elementary school, I think most of us had this unexplainable urge to be the gifted child, the teacher's pet in a sense. But weren’t we all the gifted ones? Funny how finishing the maths workbook first in class was what made me above average, the gifted one. Scrap that, I think none of us were the gifted child. We all were average. We still are. Brave of me to try and keep this image up. Personally I forgot who I am besides a girl that made a few things, is making a few things and will possibly make a few things in the future. I sometimes pity what I have made of myself. But, honestly, seldom do I feel the need to take any measures to change this. Life is more than work and no matter how cute, cheesy and stupid it sounds it’s true. But why does it feel like work is more than life? And it’s the way it’s supposed to be and if it’s not like that it’s false. Facing it seems like facing fraud.
