Best 'Star Wars' Expanded Universe Books
In a galaxy far, far away, there are even more Star Wars universes. The Star Wars Expanded Universe (SWEU) is a marvelous creation of fictional material to complement the Star Wars saga beyond the movies, the Clone Wars movie and book trilogy, and many other parts of the Star Wars bibliography. Apart from the fact that the Expanded Universe includes comic books, video games, toys, and other assorted media, the focus of the entire galactic story is in the bibliography. Moreover, many of the Star Wars Expanded Universe books are comparable in quality to the Star Wars trilogy itself. In fact, many overlap with out list of the Best Star Wars Books. Reviewing Neil Stephenson’s 'Snow Crash'
Re-reading Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson a little over a year after reading it for the first time was not only fun, but necessary. Snippets of the book from my first reading had been coming back to me for the last year or so, but so much happens in the space of 469 pages that I was remembering separate plots of the book as belonging to entirely different novels. That isn’t to say, however, that the book is especially confusing, or even complicated. It is, however, dealing with a lot of big, esoteric ideas, and Stephenson’s genius shows itself in his ability to expound on all these ideas in detail without slowing the story down. The exposition and explanation is as entrancing as the fast-paced plot.

Sci-Fi Movie Women of the 2000s
Too often when we think “women in sci-fi” we think of what used to be called “scream queens,” that is, the actresses who appeared in scores of latter day B pictures running from extraterrestrials on earth or grappling with tentacled creatures on spaceships or what have you. For this survey we want to pay homage not necessarily to the genre regulars (although you’ll find one or two along the way) but to the performers who made the most unusual and in many cases iconic impressions. The following list is not compiled in any particular order. Each woman has contributed enormously to the universe of sci-fi through their respective roles. Here are our favorites from the 2000s.

Coolest Star Wars Aliens
That galaxy far, far away wouldn’t be quite as special without the coolest Star Wars aliens we all know and love. Some of these aliens make a huge difference in Star Wars canon, affecting generations after them. Others on this list are just plain awesome and we enjoy seeing them in action. From the lovable and loyal Chewbacca to the unique crowd that gathers at the Cantina and even the Sith Emperor, the coolest Star Wars aliens are an important part of the Star Wars universe. Most of these Star Wars aliens are from the seven movies but a few of the lesser known ones come from Star Wars Legends, because every alien deserves a little recognition from time to time.

World's Most Deadly Viruses
In the face of deadly viruses the only weapon humanity has is proper hand washing and disinfectant, but preventive measures may not be enough for the 10 deadliest viruses. A virus is a small infectious agent that replicates inside the living cells of other organisms. Viruses can infect all types of life forms, from animals and plants to bacteria and archaea. Science has not yet determined whether viruses constitute life because they lack key characteristics of life, such as cell structure. They have often been described as 'organisms at the edge of life.' What is known about viruses is that they cause serious illnesses and can destroy lives if not dealt with properly. The following viruses are not listed in any particular order but don't be fooled, they are all equally deadly. Also they are not just the only most dangerous, there are many more viruses that have brought humanity to its knees causing panic and terror in the hearts of many.

Most Deceptive Scientific Frauds
There are so many problems in the world that demand solving, and scientific research is the source for such desired lifesaving innovation. However, this pressure can be a double-edged sword. Scientists are inspired to work hard to release quality research, but this can also lead to situations where people will stoop to deception to achieve fame. Fabricating data to prove a theory is an easy way to cut corners, after all, and peer review has its limitations.
