Badger and the Alaskan Bush Pilot
“Mike, Cayenne Pepper is planning the drop at 1100 hours. Come back!” “Let’s go, Buddy, Mike is meeting us.” Badger jumped up, panting; his tail wagged so hard, it stung Mike’s leg. Suited for the minus twenty-two temperature, he took off on the snowmobile with its supply sled attached. Badger loped along at his own pace under the bright blue sky, snow flying off his paws. He disappeared after a snowshoe bunny into the black spruce woods.

Blizzard Encounter
In a bitter 1968 blizzard, Sandi was driving her parents’ VW bus on an Illinois two-lane road. Snow was drifting into tall piles because of the sideways wind. It was dangerous to continue in the blizzard, but she had to get to the destination and trusted her instincts and driving skills.

Myron's Badger Saves The Day
“Badger! Let’s get those ice clumps out of your paws.” The big Husky laid down on the wooden deck; I put one paw in my lap and wrapped it in a steaming cloth to loosen the ice. Badger’s tail thumped. The paw cleaning took thirty minutes, and after, the snowy wilderness and serenity sedated us to snooze by the fireplace.
