Petti Sati

Right behind them to the afterlife first

By Seashell Harpspring Published about 20 hours ago • 1 min read

Sati (or suttee) is a chiefly historical Hindu practice in which a widow burns alive on her deceased husband's funeral pyre, either voluntarily, by coercion, or by a perception of the lack of satisfactory options for continuing to live. -Wikipedia

I loved them dearly, more than anyone

I know many people can see that, not just me

Now that their life is done

I can be the first one they come to see

In the afterlife I shall meet them

They may have chosen another in this time prior

Not the next though, us is what shall begin

so I will burn myself on their funeral pyre

Call me sad, call me petty

but I now take on the way it shall go

I will go with them where all can clearly see

Above their coffin, a fire show
