Nostalgia for Mountains and Youth

Acrostic for the Moment of Silence Challenge

Standing on the mountain top with my eagle-spread arms,

I’m breathing in the silence, dreading for the others to catch up and freak out.

Lacking fear of heights seems to be

Entertaining only for myself,

Not my climbing companions.

“Crazy?!?” I hear them out of breath, trying to pull me off the

Edge. “You think I can fly?” - “Not today, not in front of me, crazy!”

I was never that kid. I hate heights. Some of my cousins definitely were this kid though. Great work!

A wonderful piece, I am terrified of heights but somehow your poem makes me feel like I can fly. Makes me feel brave enough to stand a little on the edge. Great imagery.

Loved this, Lana! Must have been the picture of the mountain that did it. I like to go right to the edge too! What does that say about us?

Oh...this was very clever. Loved the humorous tale you told.
