Cold, rainy day,
gusty winds lashing,
perfect weather to bake bread,
bring some warmth and comfort.
I kneaded flour and yeast,
sugar, salt, oil,
made two loaves,
sprinkled nigella seeds,
and put them in the oven.
The kids were excited,
as they sat on little stools
close to the oven,
feeling the warmth,
watching the loaves rise,
turning to brown,
talking to each other,
singing rhymes,
counting the remaining time.
I was painting nearby,
in between checking on the bread.
Out came the warm loaves,
I sliced and slathered them,
with cream cheese.
They enjoyed the snack,
I felt gratitude,
it is sure domestic bliss.

I so love the picture and the enjoyment your children are showing in the baking bread. There is no greater feeling of accomplishment than 2 fresh loaves of baked bread and a couple of hungry kids to appreciate the goodness of it.
Hahahaha I love how they're watching it so diligently!
This sounds so fun! I can't wait until my son is a bit older and we can bake together.
