The Internet: Pros & Cons
The Internet As We Know It

Today the Internet is available to a BILLION users worldwide with the number still increasing as the time goes. Without it, the world would be a TOTAL mess and it would cause chaos in every single country that is using it.
Could we possibly imagine a World without the Internet? I'd be lying to you if I said I could when in reality I used Internet to write this whole article. Still we need Internet for arguably anything you could imagine.
Now I'm not saying that we SHOULD be putting our life's into it since we can't get back the time that we spend into it but it can be a tool which we can use to better ourselves, the world and those around us.
There are GOOD and BAD sides regarding the Internet on which we are all connected and I'll mention them below:
Pros:
- There's millions upon BILLIONS of information available to any place, location, human, animal and etc. It's accessible at the tip of your finger.
- If you need a direction or you're feeling lost, you can go to Google Maps or other sites/apps which can help you to get familiar with the place you're surrounded in. You can still ask somebody if you prefer to.
- Entertainment is basically everywhere you can think of, you have video games, movies, shows, sports and any other type of entertainment. You've got ENDLESS options.
- We are connected more than ever before which is mesmerizing/mind blowing. With online platforms having the ability to connect one person to another whether they're close or far away is an advancement in this day and age. But, don't forget to go outside and socialize aswell as talk with people because at the end of the day we're human beings and are created to talk to people.
- With the ability to work as an entrepreneur, you can use the Internet to make some money online whether that is selling/teaching a course, writing articles/blogs online (like this one), create a video game, learn a new language and much more.
Cons:
- With social media platforms having millions upon BILLIONS of users every day, a human being faces a lot of bullying, harrasment and receive death threats from a complete stranger online regardless if they're a celebrity or just an ordinary person.
- With the HUGE ammount of information that is available on the Internet, there is also a lot of disinformation, lying and false claims which a typical human will process as a negative output even if the information that is perceived is either wrong or fake.
- There's SOO many influencers and guru's online that are "selling" courses to people who are desperate to earn some cash, those influencers and guru's make those courses sound "too good" to be real and the people will fall victim to it out of desperation to earn some income.
- Considering the ability to talk with somebody online through a platform, a person will "think" that they are talking to a loved one or a friend when in reality the other human that they're "talking" to can be a COMPLETE creep, stalker or a kidnapper that is disguised in a mask.
- DO NOT put your personal information, address and credit card info on a site if it feels out of place, sketchy and you don't trust it unless it's needed or required from the site but it has to be real and trusted.
As you can see, the Internet can be either the BEST thing that has happened to humanity or it can do an irreversible damage to somebody which can result in restrictions of using it.
Do you think that the Internet is created for the better or worse? With the points that I mentioned above I think that WE have the power to decide on which direction the Internet will go.
